In time to make and wear to all those long-awaited summer celebrations, I am delighted to present a beginner's flower-making millinery kit and online interactive class. The kit includes all the materials you will need to create a contemporary headpiece featuring a multi-petaled rose, finished with a froth of ivory veiling and attached to a pre-made buntal beret/button (included). Alternatively, the rose could also be worn as a lapel brooch.
I have also designed headpieces with flowers in the regional colours of the UK - the Welsh dragon: red, green, and ivory; the Scottish Saltire - blue and ivory; as well as course as the English rose: red and ivory, not forgetting my home county of Northumberland: flame and ivory. Please get in touch if you would like to commission a kit in an alternative colourway.
In case you may be interested to know a little about the creation of the kit - in the Spring of 2021 I was commissioned by the UK Crafts Council to design and deliver a millinery masterclass to the patrons of The Saint Georges Society of New York. The SGSNY is the oldest charity in the USA and my millinery class formed part of their 250 year anniversary celebrations. Inspired by one of the Society's symbols, the red rose of Lancashire and England, the beginner's millinery kit and online course that I created for SGSNK has been extremely popular. (there are more details here or in my blog)
The kits will be available to purchase from May 26th 2021 via CraftCourses.com as well as my accessories store MHW_ Millinery on The British Craft House, the online courses will run on the regularly.
