Just a taster of some of some of the editorial coverage* I received in September and October to mark the two exhibitions for London Hat Week, this piece is from October's Accents Magazine. There's lots more about the coverage for London Hat Week and the North of England Wedding Awards nomination for Excellence in Customer Service on me FB & Twitter feeds, my website blog and linked pages, too.
I was delighted to learn that three of my exhibition pieces (all recycled and up-cycled pieces) were selected to exhibited at the two international exhibitions - and particularly that 'Heald Wires' was in the top 30 of 130 to be exhibited, out of the 250 international entries for the exhibition! I was so delighted I couldn't wait to make another hat!! This time a piece especially to wear to The MillinerXArtisan Exhibition the opening night - Heald Wires Cocktail, pictured nestling on Simon's grandfather's top hat box!
Looking back at the Spring, here's one of a series of three editorials that The Northumberland Gazette ran on me. In March I made & donated a felt trilby trimmed with feature pheasant boutonnière and silk covered button complete with Alnwick Rugby Club lion rampant. The trilby was auctioned in March in aid of Alnwick Minis U9's tour, raising £240. Of course having Gavin Hastings as the guest of honour for the Minis & Juniors tournament in April helped too, as 'wor Gav' signed the trilby's head band for the lucky highest bidder at the auction!
I was fortunate to enjoy quite a lot of press and editorials, and whilst I've posted about the coverage in my website blog, and FaceBook - Margaret Woodliff Wright Millinery - here's one from an unexpected destination. Sew Magazine run an article in March on vintage fashion, and included an image and editorial on one of my pieces.
